Co-Founder & Principal Engineer
Navid Hodjat, PE, is a Co-Founder and Principal Engineer of JRN Engineering, bringing more than 20 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, procurement, and construction services. His career spans complex projects across multiple sectors, with a strong focus on constructability, risk mitigation, and real-world execution in the field.
Navid has extensive experience in the structural analysis and design of multi-story reinforced concrete and steel structures, including residential, commercial, and institutional buildings, as well as critical construction systems such as tower cranes, personnel hoists, shoring, scaffolding, and temporary works. He has worked closely with contractors, equipment providers, and construction teams to deliver engineering solutions that are not only code-compliant but also practical, efficient, and aligned with project schedules.
Throughout his career, Navid has collaborated with major international engineering and construction firms, including AMEC and Technip, supporting multidisciplinary teams on demanding projects requiring decisive engineering judgment and clear communication. He is known for his ability to remain objective under rapidly changing conditions, identify potential risks early, and implement effective, timely solutions.
Navid is highly proficient in advanced finite element analysis (FEA) and structural design software, including STAAD Pro, SAP, SAFE, ETABS, RISA, ANSYS, and related BIM and visualization tools. He is well-versed in U.S. and international codes and standards, including ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC, API, AWS, and ASME, and currently holds Professional Engineer licensure in 15 states.
